Three men arrested following Christmas Eve assault in Grays High Street

DETECTIVES investigating an assault in Grays High Street have arrested three men.

Police were called to the High Street, near the Paddy Power bookmakers, just before midnight on Wednesday, December 23 following reports that a man had been assaulted and was laying on the pavement. The man, who is in his 40s, was taken to Queens Hospital in London where he remains.

Officers arrested two local men, aged 27 and 28, on December 24. They have been bailed to February 5 pending further enquiries. The third man, aged 28 and from Hornchurch, was arrested this morning, (December 27). He remains in custody being questioned by detectives.
