ESSEX Police had a very busy night in Thurrock and all over the county.
Essex Police officers were placed under considerable demand last night as the County celebrated the arrival of the New Year. Between midnight and 4am there were 262 incidents which is an increase of 130 per cent compared to an average Friday morning.
Of these, 121 were emergencies, an increase of 537 per cent compared to a normal Friday morning.
Chief Inspector Simon Anslow was Essex Police’s Silver Commander for the night. He said: "There were a lot of emergencies and priorities and we got them all covered thanks to some really great work by our officers and staff. There was on average an incident every minute across the county.”
