Initial story

THE M25 was closed on a number of occasions on Sunday afternoon and evening after horses strayed onto the motorway.

The authorities closed the motorway close to Junction 29 and 30 whilst they corralled the horses.

There were no reports of any horses harmed.

The reports will be of concern to horse welfare campaigners who have kept an eye on horses in fields that run parallel to the M25 from Upminster to South Ockendon.
