Appeal after teenage girl robbed of Segway in Stanford-le-Hope

DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old girl was robbed of her Segway in Stanford-Le-Hope.

It happened shortly before 4.30pm on Monday, January 4 in Abbotts Drive.

The girl was riding it along the road when a male came up behind her and pushed her to the ground. He then picked up the Segway and ran off towards The Sorrells.

He is described as white, aged between 17 and 19-years-old, 5ft 7ins tall, of skinny build and was wearing a grey jacket or hooded top with the hood up. He was also wearing blue jeans and a black scarf.

The girl suffered cuts and bruises as a result of being pushed off the Segway.

Anybody who witnessed the incident or who may have seen the suspect is asked to contact Dc Nicola Hadfield at Grays CID on Essex Police 101.
