New You, New Year, why not volunteer” Volunteer Recruitment Fayre

VOLUNTEER Centre Thurrock is holding a drop-in ‘New you, New Year’ Volunteer Recruitment Fayre to help people find volunteering opportunities for 2016.

The event is being held on Thursday 21st January, between 11am – 2pm at the Beehive, West Street, Grays, Essex, RM17 6XP.

Laura Hudson, Volunteer Coordinator said “Many people will have made their New Year resolutions about finding a job, learning new skills or making a difference to the local community. Volunteering can help people to achieve their resolutions and offers so many benefits. It can help people who have spare time on their hands or people who may be retired, unemployed or just feeling isolated and lonely and want to meet new people. There will be many organisations in attendance to talk to aswell as other volunteers”.

“If people are unable to attend we would encourage them to visit the new Volunteer Essex website which was launched earlier this month. It is filled will hundreds of opportunities in Thurrock and across Essex.”

There will be additional information on youth volunteering and Timebank Thurrock, a project where people can use their time to help others in exchange for time credits, and use the time credits to get help for themselves.

So why not make 2016 count, make a change and start volunteering or timebanking, there’s something for everyone!
