ESSEX Police are investigating a spate of incidents in which wing mirrors were damaged on 17 cars in one night in Stifford Clays.
The vehicles affected were:
• Vauxhall Zafira Tourer parked in Crammavill Street, nearside wing mirror smashed between 11pm on January 9 and 6am on January 10.
• Toyota Corolla parked in Crammavill Street, nearside wing mirror smashed between 9pm on January 9 and 7.45am on January 10.
• Citroen Xsara Picasso, Whitmore Avenue, nearside wing mirror glass smashed, between 10.30pm on January 9 and 8am January 10.
• Citroen Dispatch, Fairway, a wing mirror kicked off between 11pm on January 9 and 9am January 10.
• Ford Focus, Crammavill Street, passenger wing mirror broken in two pieces, between 7pm January 9 and 7am January 10.
• Ford Fiesta, Whitmore Avenue, nearside wing mirror smashed, shortly after 4am January 10.
• Ford Fiesta, Gourney Grove, passenger wing mirror pulled off, between 8.30pm January 9 and 9am January 10.
• Nissan Almera, Crammavill Street, both wing mirrors mashed and a scratch on car bodywork on driver’s side, between 4pm January 9 and 10am January 10.
• Peugeot 3008 Crossover, Whitmore Avenue, passenger wing mirror smashed, between 5pm January 9 and 10.20am January 10.
• Vauxhall Astra, Whitmore Avenue, nearside wing mirror broken off and front bumper dented, between 10pm January 9 and 10am January 10.
• Honda Jazz, Whitmore Avenue, glass off offside wing mirror smashed, between 10pm January 9 and 10am January 10.
• Ford Focus, Whitmore Avenue, passenger wing mirror smashed, between 10pm January 9 and 11am January 10.
• Renault Megane Scenic, Fairway, both wing mirrors damaged, between 2.30pm January 9 and 5am January 10.
• Ford Focus, Fairway, glass smashed on both wing mirrors, between 6pm January 9 and 10.45am January 10.
• Vauxhall Mokka, Whitmore Avenue, wing mirror damaged, between 10.30pm January 9 and 12pm January 10.
• Ford Focus, Whitmore Avenue, passenger side wing mirror broken off, between 5.30pm January 9 and 11.55am January 10.
• BMW 318i, John Clay Gardens, both wing mirrors smashed, overnight January 9 to January 10.
The incidents are being linked. Police are appealing for witnesses who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area to contact Pc Brian Sargent on 101.
