STEPHEN Metcalfe, local Member of Parliament for South Basildon & East Thurrock visited Relate South Essex last week. Relate South Essex is an independent registered charity which offers a professional Counselling and Mediation Services with trained, supported and supervised counsellors across South Essex.
It is part of a national network of Relate charities with over 70 years of experience in supporting relationships. Relate South Essex is governed by a Board of Trustees, all of them volunteers, who are deeply committed to creating good couple and family relationships in order to form the heart of a thriving society.
The meeting was arranged to discuss both the work of Relate around relationship resolutions and where it’s funding can most effectively be targeted.
Stephen Metcalfe commented: “I was delighted to visit Relate South Essex on Friday and was particularly impressed with the commitment and dedication of the team who work for this very valuable organisation”.
“When things begin to go awry in a relationship, it is sometimes easy to think that the best thing to do is abandon that relationship and move forward. In many instances however, there are things that are worth saving and the mediators at Relate are specialists in identifying the worthwhile aspects of a relationship and encouraging people to make the most of them”.
“Often early intervention can help stop a relationship from breaking down completely to the benefit of all those involved and can set people back on the right track.”
