Football: Aveley go down to impressive Harlow Town

Aveley 1 v 2 Harlow Town

AVELEY went down fighting against a resurgent Harlow Town at Mill Field.

This was Harlow’s sixth victory in a row and they showed why once again they may well be in the shake up for promotion come April.

Goals by Piers Wixon (13′) and a Perry Dunn own goal (38′) made sure the three points went to Harlow.

Aveley pulled back a late goal to set up a nervy finish.

A long distance shot from Abs Seymour deflected off Liam Nash at the back post, and beat David Hughes.

But the Hawks saw out five minutes of injury time to strengthen the playoff challenge.

The result sees Aveley fall to fourteenth place in the league.

They return to league action next Saturday away against Phoenix Sports.
