Volunteer Essex website launched in Thurrock

NGAGE Volunteer Centre Thurrock officially launched the new ‘Volunteer Essex’ website for people who wish to find volunteer opportunities in Thurrock and across Essex. The launch was part of a county wide launch of the new site where other Volunteer Centres across Essex held their launches simultaneously in libraries.

Laura Hudson, Volunteer coordinator said “We were fortunate to have the Mayor of Thurrock Cllr Sue Gray launch the site and she spoke about the importance of volunteering and the benefits for young people to choose volunteer. There were a number of people in attendance who were interested in volunteering, including some young people from South Essex College and many of them enjoyed the celebratory cake that was provided”.

A ‘New Year, New You’ Recruitment Fayre was also held to promote volunteering and more than 40 people registered to volunteer at the event.
