ESSEX Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were called to a fire in the first floor of a house in Dene Path, South Ockendon.
A thermal image camera and a ventelation fan were used in the property because it was heavily smoked logged on arrival. Two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire by 13:43hrs.
Crews gave a female casualty oxygen therapy after she suffered the effects of breathing in smoke.
She was left in the care of the Ambulance Service.
