Thurrock won 8-0.

Thurrock completely dominated this game, with Tee’s keeper Danny Hick rarely seeing the goal near his D.

Early goals from Callum Harvey and Liam Birch were added to by Billy Hick to make it 3-0 at half time.

The second half was more dominant and the highlight was a second half hat trick from Jay Lamb. The scoring was wrapped up with goals from Jordan Salmon and Olu Akinwande.

Thurrock dominated the game from the first whistle and forced Southendians to defend in numbers. Dudley McNamara was unlucky hitting the ball inches wide from a free hit. As Thurrock piled on the pressure it seemed like a matter of time before they scored, however strong defending and a string of outstanding saves by the keeper meant that the first half remained goalless. Thurrock continued their efforts after the break being awarded several short corners but were unable to penetrate the home defence. With five minutes remaining as Thurrock pushed for the winner, a rare breakaway by Southendian led to Dave Leeks facing two unmarked attackers and, although he stopped the initial shot, the rebound fell kindly and he was beaten by the second.

The fine play was rewarded with an excellent goal.SHANNON HARVEY weaved her way through the Witham defence and then sent a perfectly timed pass to LOU HARRISON who placed the ball, with perfection, past the approaching keeper.

Thurrocks dominance took Witham by surprise!

In the 2 nd half Witham found the net early and then a very determined competition took place!

With 15 minutes to go controversy struck. Witham’s winning goal was challenged by Ts

Thurrock then clearly became unsettled and their play was affected. A harsh lesson was learnt and it was

To their credit the team settled finally and came very close to drawing from a last minute short corner. Ts know how close they came to winning this game and will take solace from the fact that they did play well and most certainly have learnt the need to maintain focus.
