Anger as massive cruiser event at Orsett Showground cancelled

PLANS for a massive car cruiser event at the Orsett Showgrounds have been cancelled.

ModFest 2016 was due to happen in February but the organisers have pulled the handbrake on their plans.

A spokesperson said: "Due to the final obstacles we have been issued we have no option but to postpone the event

"The team behind ModFest are working at a silly rate to get all the boxes ticked to keep the local authorities happy

"The largest obstacle we are tackling is the public space order in Thurrock (even though the event was planed before it come into place)

"We can hold a great event but would result in spectators gaining a fine and injunction on the exit of the venue

Team ModFest will not be beaten and we are postponing the event as we can’t let this great day go to waste

To all supporters of ModFest who are going to keep up with what we are doing you can keep the tickets already purchased to gain entry for the new date & venue

Anyone that wants a refund is entitled to one, if you request a refund this has to be done through Darren he will issue the refund on the eventbrite site but the only catch is once you email address is refunded you can’t re order online ( a separate post will be placed for this )

ModFest 2016 is a legal show all the obstacles in place need to be ticked to make it legal, this is not a car park meet we cannot host without local authorities onside,

"Sorry for the inconvenience."
