A COUPLE of apologies for omissions from last month start this month’s Bulphan WI report. Firstly to Pat Hall for not mentioning that she’d been presented with a shield as captain of the winning team at a recent Christine Willett quiz night.
Also to the talented Linda Allen who demonstrated a super quick way of folding a fitted sheet into a square rather than doing as many may do & scrunching it up into a ball!
February was a very fast paced, action packed meeting as stuntwoman Lucy Allen told tales of moving from being a gymnast to drama student to appearing in TV & films alongside the likes of Daniel Craig. There was even a stunt rat with its own crash mat involved in one of the TV programmes she worked on. She also explained about how stunts were set up & that there are different levels of stunt achievements you have to work through, finally being allowed to set up stunts for other professionals.
The next two months meetings in March & April are for members only to celebrate firstly St. Patricks Day then the Institutes 87th birthday alongside the Queen’s 90th with some invited guests from other Institutes, it’s set to be a “Right Royal Rave!”
There are quite a few outings arranged over the coming months starting with Walking in the Footsteps of the Suffragettes around London, a ramble around Warley Place, Belhus Woods Bluebell walk, visit to the BBC & an afternoon tea at Westcliff Hotel to celebrate St. Georges Day.
May 11th is the next open meeting when you can come along & find out what the WI is all about.
