Thurrock Ladies 1’s 0 v 4 BBHC

In what was going to be a battle of the bottom two teams, Thurrock being 1-0 down at half time meant Thurrock started strong putting the BBHC defence under pressure but play then resembled more ping pong hockey with both sides having chances, finally BBHC took the advantage defending well and pressuring Thurrock who with only 11 tired, BBHC managed to find feet in the Thurrock D, leading to BBHC executing two corners, going into the last 5 minutes 3-0 to BBHC.

Then came a further well transferred ball across the Thurrock D, which was slotted into the bottom corner, with the game finishing 4-0 to BBHC.

A well fought draw in an important game.

In good spirits on the back of last weeks success against Redbridge Thurrock Ladies 3s were well prepared to take on 3rd in the league Chelmsford.

Although without their usual goalie who is out with an injury Thurrock fought back after conceding two goals in the first half to equalise in the second.

The first goal came from 1 of our 3 players of the match SHANNON HARVEY in open play and was followed 10 minutes later by newcomer ABBY POLLOCK. Thurrock then faced a difficult period of attack but defended valiantly to achieve a well deserved draw.

Ladies 3s are looking forward to their week off without a game and are then at home against Phoenix on Feb 27th.

Thurrock were under pressure from the start of this game and found themselves 0-2 down after 10 minutes. Gradually Thurrock made progress and made some promising moves which succeeded in maintaining the score at have time. after the break East London attacked strongly and added a third goal from a short corner after 5 minutes. Thurrock stemmed the tide and achieved a couple of short corners but were unable to beat the agile keeper. 10 minutes from time a mishit ball crept into the Thurrock net making it 4-0 and East London made it 5-0 scoring from a short corner with the last hit of the match.
