Violent assault at Purfleet Railway Station

OFFICERS from British Transports Police are appealing for information following a violent assault at Purfleet Station.

At approximately 10.10pm on Sunday, 31 January a group of up to five men approached the victim and his friends becoming hostile and argumentative. After some provocation, the victim (34), then attempted to leave the station car park when he was chased down by three of the men and attacked.

After attempting to fend off the assailants, the victim fell to the ground where he was subsequently kicked in the head. As well as receiving multiple cuts and bruises, the victim also sustained a broken bone.

Investigation officer Detective Constable Sally Everritt said: “It would appear that this was a random and vicious act of aggression and it is essential that we identify those individuals in the CCTV image.

“This behaviour is totally unacceptable and has understandably left the victim shaken and requiring medical attention.”
