THE School Council representatives from Benyon Primary School had the fantastic experience of visiting the Council Offices and meeting the Mayor last week.
They were accompanied by Councillor Barry Johnson who is also a governor at the school.
Following lunch in the Mayor’s Parlour, the children held their council meeting in the Council Offices with the Mayor in attendance, discussing how to further improve break times for all of the pupils at Benyon. They then had the opportunity to question the Mayor and try on her official hat, robes and chain.
Florence Billings, Chairperson for the school council, reported that “We all had so much fun, it was such a pleasure. The best day ever!”
