THE LEADER of the Thurrock Conservative group at Thurrock Council has welcomed renewed calls for the Highways England to clean up the Dock Approach Road.
Conservative Leader and Spokesman for environment said: "I have lost count of the number of requests for action I and other Conservatives have made on behalf of residents on this.
"So far all we have received is empty promises of action and excuses when those promises have been broken. It is now at the point if Highways England and their contractors fail to deliver, they should fined and the work, along with the money to complete it passed to the Council. That way there will be local accountability and no more excuses for leaving our major roadways looking like rubbish tip."
