Bulphan WI: Celebrating everything Irish

BULPHAN WI turned the village hall green this month with their celebration of St. Patrick and all things Irish. As well as many of the members wearing greens of every shade four bearded Leprechauns also arrived to join in the fun!

The evening’s entertainment started with a fantastic display by The Kolley School of Irish Dance with members as young as two taking part in several traditional dances & some modern interpretations.

Next came a quiz where the music in the name that Irish tune round was played by Bulphan’s very own piper Joanne Goddard, who also played again towards the end of the evening so some of the members could try their own Michael Flatley moves!

The April meeting will be for members & invited guests only as it is the Institutes 87th Birthday party combined with a nod to the Queens upcoming 90th Birthday for “A Right Royal Rave” tiaras & crowns are a must wear item.

Members will be taking a walk through the bluebells at Belhus Woods on the 19th April

Bulphan are also the hostesses of this year’s Thames Group Annual meeting on 20th April, which is a chance for members of the nine Institutes who form the Group to get together for a night of entertainment & catching up.

A busy April finishes off with an afternoon tea at Westcliffe Hotel on 23rd to celebrate St. Georges Day & a visit to the BBC on 30th.

May 11th is the next open meeting when you can come along & find out what the WI is all about.
