Stanford parishioners fundraise for Mary’s meals

THE parishioners of ‘Our Lady & St Joseph RC Church in Southend Road, Stanford Le Hope have been fundraising for the ‘Mary’s Meals Charity since November last year.

This amazing charity works around the world to encourage children to attend school to receive a hearty meal and all for the cost of £12.20 per child for an entire year.

Through a church appeal for donations of £12.20 and collections of ‘Penny Pots’ a total of 320 children worldwide will be fed and schooled for a year…

The final event was held last Saturday…

"A Bit of a Mary’s Meals Do" showing the ‘Child 31’ film, followed by a cheese and wine evening which included a raffle and an auction.

Some very weird and wonderful auction items came under the hammer of auctioneer Chris Meads: a giant plastic swan planter causing the most bewilderment.

Despite this over £180 was raised and with the Raffle, Tickets sales

and after several generous donations by Parishioners, Friends and Family of ‘Our Lady & St Joseph RC Church in Stanford Le Hope, Essex, a total of £533.30 was reached.
