AMDTUNING.com has taken the wraps off the dramatic colour scheme it will field on track during its assault on the 2016 British GT Championship.
This season will mark the first time that the West Thurrock-based team has competed in the premier GT3 class of what is arguably the strongest domestic GT championship anywhere in the world; having agreed a deal to take over the running of a pair of BMW Z4s campaigned in recent seasons by Triple Eight Race Engineering.
Whilst the team has been on track at both Silverstone and Snetterton in recent weeks, the annual season launch back at Snetterton yesterday (15 March) marked the first time that the BMW had been seen in the eye-catching colours it will feature throughout the season.
The #7 BMW, being shared for a fourth season by front-running duo Joe Osborne and Lee Mowle, will once again carry backing from leading investment management firm Seven Investment Management (7IM) as well as largemortgageloans.com; an award-winning specialist broker set up to facilitate the borrowing needs of high net worth individuals looking to make residential and commercial property purchases.
As well as showing off the new look for the BMW, the season launch also provided Joe and Lee with the opportunity to take to the track alongside their 2016 rivals for the first time.
Having topped the times in the first of three hour-long sessions at the Norfolk circuit, the pair would end the day third fastest overall; leaving AmDTuning.com in good shape ahead of the season opener at Brands Hatch next month.
Alongside the #7 entry, AmDTuning.com has also secured a second entry for the 2016 season, which is available for interested drivers.
Justin Urquhart Stewart – 7IMnsaid: "We’re absolutely thrilled to support Lee and his team this year and continue building our relationships within the racing community. Sportscar racing, more than many other forms of motorsport is based on strategy, process and teamwork, so we see many parallels in our work with clients and their professional advisers. We wish the team great success in the forthcoming season and look forward to seeing them in action."
Paul Welch, Founder & CEO largemortgageloans.com said: "We are pleased to be involved with Lee this season. We have unique sources of capital to finance the normal real estate transactions but now we can fund race cars and road cars that will be of interest to the motor racing world."
