Don’t lose your chance to vote in May elections

ALL Thurrock residents will be heading to the polls on Thursday 5 May this year for the election of a Police Crime and Commissioner for Essex and for the 17 borough seats up for re-election.

In three wards; Little Thurrock Rectory, Stifford Clays and Tilbury Riverside & Thurrock Park there will be no borough election. Electors will vote in the Police Crime and Commissioner election only.

Thurrock Council is democratically elected by thirds with a poll held three years out of four, but in wards where there are only two members – such as those above – local elections are held two years out of four.

The Returning Officer will be issuing combined poll cards for the Local and Police Crime and Commissioner Elections and they will be delivered from 31 March.

Additional poll cards will be delivered for electors who have recently applied to register to vote or register up to 18 April.
