Chadwell councillor continues to lead battle against bikers on Orsett heath

A CHADWELL ST Mary councillor is continuing to lead the way in battling motor-bikers on Orsett Heath.

Cllr Gerard Rice said: "I visited the Playing Fields on last Thursday with Richard Parkin Head of the Environment and Steve Cox, Director of the Environment with the Police to discuss a way foward to secure the fields.

1. The Bridge from Woodside to the Chadwell Field will have a restriction put in to stop Motorbikes using this route but with access for prams

2. The underpass on Farm Road will have the same restriction fitted with access for a pram’

3. The Pyramid Car Park will be fitted with gates and the Ladies from the Centre will lock them to prevent the drug taking on this car park

4, Further Restrictions will be put in place on the Ruskin Road Estate

"You will appreciate under this Tory government a further £10m will be cut from the Council’s Budget in the financial year from 6th April 2016 which will result in further staff losing their jobs

"You will be aware that former Labour Councillors Gordon Barton and Alan Warren secured the knee rail fencing around the Playing Fields and Claudian Way which I have asked Officers to make sure these points are secure against further traveller incursions and I had the fence repaired on Chadwell Hill and Thames View recently.
