CONCERNED Chafford Hundred residents have started a petition against the plans for development at the back of Bannatynes.
The latest application proposes 239 residential units as well as a doctor’s surgery in the Howard Road site.
The main objections centre on "existing traffic problems, pollution, lack of schooling, noise and out of design for the existing area".
In the first few days, the petition has already gained over 500 signatures.
The site has been the subject of a number of planning bids over the last eight years.
Over the coming weeks, we hope to interview concerned residents and councillors regarding the application.
