THURROCK-based TipToe Stage School added yet anther string to their bow on Sunday when they were awarded the Best Dance Act in the South East at the South East Entertainment Awards.
The official ceremony was held at the Civic Hall in Grays and the school’s achievements were recognised by a panel of industry representatives who had selected them from a list of very strong entries.
Other winners at the event included Jordan (aka Tall Dark Friend) from BBC’s The Voice and also X Factor’s Two Shoes.
TipToe are celebrating their 30th year of trading and the award was presented to the school with the endorsement that "…they continue to provide the highest quality of teaching and learning in the Performing Arts, while always concentrating on making the lessons fun, safe and enjoyable".
Principal, Julie Barker, took to the stage along with the pupils who performed at the ceremony, to rapturous applause. Commenting, Julie said: "This is a massive achievement for TipToe and it is all down to the superb team of teachers I have, the dedicated and talented pupils and the parents who continually support what we do.
"This event is a big deal in the industry and to think that our pupils have been recognised is both heart-warming and really appreciated.
"It shows that what we offer is quality teaching and performing opportunities and is yet another thing that makes our 30th year so special".
The school is currently rehearsing for their 30th anniversary show which is taking place at the Towngate Theatre, Basildon in October. Following their recent trip to perform on Broadway in New York, Julie and her team are now considering appearing in Las Vegas in 2017 after being approached by a production company when in America.
