Arts Festival set to come to Tilbury

THE Port of Tilbury, London’s major port, is delighted to be one of the key venues for the new biennial arts festival on the Thames Estuary that will take place between 17th Sept 2016 – 2nd October 2016

Created and delivered by Metal an arts organisation whose key focus is the celebration of place and communities, through the lens of contemporary art.

The Port of Tilbury has opened up the Cruise Terminal and Railway Station in support of this festival that is an exciting mix of new and existing art works that will pull together powerful themes resonant to the place, its history, landscape and communities in an ambitious programme of contemporary art, literature, film and music.

As part of the festival The Port of Tilbury will also be running its own well established community days that will involve speakers on local heritage and guided vintage bus tours around the Port itself.

At Forth Ports, which owns The Port of Tilbury, the focus is on initiatives that support our diverse workforce; enhance our environment; strengthen our communities; and advance the understanding of the Port’s cultural and historical heritage.
