SHIRLEY Perkins was the WI Advisor for West Tilbury WI at their AGM this month, She oversaw the voting for the President and committee.
Joanne Phillips retained her position as the President with Lorna Jones Secretary and Liz Wakefield continuing as Treasurer. Aspects of the WI were discussed and Shirley will take any suggestions for the Thames Group to improve their getting to events to County.
A WI competition is to plant up a hanging basket or ‘Brasket’ in a Bra, one entry from each institute to be sent by photo to the judges. This caused must hilarity with the suggestions put forward.
Joanne Phillips is raising money for several charities including abscaling down a high building. Swimming, cycling , running, for The Children’s Ward Polly Parrot appeal at Basildon Hospital.
Invitation for Chadwell WI Cream Tea on July 6th was read out.
Raffle prizes were won by Liz Wakefield, Margaret Ockendon, Margaret Camp and Denise Nice.
