New affordable homes in South Ockendon

SIXTEEN stylish new homes have been launched in Arisdale Avenue, South Ockendon, by Essex housing association, CHP.

Constructing the 12 two-bedroom flats and four two-bedroom houses – which are all for affordable rent – saw CHP work with builders, Persimmon Homes, and the local authority, Thurrock Council. All of the properties have allocated parking spaces while the houses all have their own private gardens.

Offering reliable transport links to London, due to the developments proximity to Ockendon train station and the M25, the properties have been built to meet a level-four rating under the government’s Code for Sustainable Homes as well as the Lifetime Homes Standard.

The company, which recently launched its 2,000th new build home in Chelmsford, will be developing in excess of 350 homes throughout Essex during the forthcoming year while offering local people a range of tenures and property types to suit their needs.

Carl Hockey, CHP Development and Regeneration manager, said: “While we have developed a number of homes in the Thurrock area previously this is the first time we have provided properties for local residents in South Ockendon and we are delighted with the result.

“Not only are the homes stylish, more importantly they are all for affordable rent as we are dedicated to developing and offering homes which suit the needs of local residents.
