A LARGE group of Hathaway Academy pupils were involved in a mass brawl on Tuesday afternoon in Grays.
The fight between a large number of male pupils took place outside the Grays library on Cromwell Road at just after 3pm.
Staff were in such a state of fear and alarm that they called 999.
It took one diminutive (but brave) librarian to go out to the street and calm the fighting students down.
YT understands that the event has not come as a surprise to staff at the Thameside Complex.
Infact, at just after 3pm on weekdays, staff appear to have a security detail in order to deal with the Hathaway Academy dispersal.
YT has asked Hathaway Academy a number of questions regarding this issue but they did not respond at the time of publication.
