Newly born foal rescued by Fire Service in Tilbury

ESSEX Firefighters have rescued a new born foal that was stuck in mud at Tilbury Fort.

One crew from Orsett reunited the baby with its mother after getting called out to Fort Road, Tilbury, at 13:02hrs. A hose reel jet was used to wash the baby clean.

Assistant Divisional Officer Martin Pullen, of Orsett Fire Station, said: “We were called to attend an incident of a horse stuck in the mud, which turned out to be a newly born foal.

“Crews assisted the foal from the mud and washed it down, then reunited with its mother. Both animals were then reunited with their happy owner.”
