THE first of the ‘Murdered to Death’ comedy plays hosted by Thurrock Courts Players begins tomorrow night and director Mike Jones insists he is expecting a thoroughly successful showing following the impressive rehearsals.

The second offering in the year of murder and mystery by Thurrock Courts Players sees the bungling Inspector Pratt attempt to solve the mysterious murder of Mildred Bagshot at her country estate with a range of suspects in this Agatha Christie spoof.

Ahead of the first play tomorrow evening at 7:45 in the Thameside theatre, Grays, director Mike Jones said: “I’m very excited because we have a very strong cast and the rehearsal process has been really positive and enjoyable.

“We know we have a extremely good play here and that the audience is going to love it.

“It’s been a three month process of choosing the play, auditions and the six hours of rehearsals every week right through to when we moved into the theatre at the weekend.”

Jones also praised the hard work of the cast which has allowed them to fit in an extra dress rehearsal which he believes will make the play all the better: “The cast have been so professional that we managed an extra dress-rehearsal last night, and we’ll have another tonight ahead of tomorrow’s performance.

“We’re hoping to get around 200 in the audience per night, so just under a thousand people will get to see it which isn’t bad at all.”

The show runs from Thursday, May 19 to Saturday May 21 at 7:45pm and tickets are £12 or £10 for students or Senior Citizens.
