UKIP councillor, James Baker has been welcomed back into the fold after a short period of suspension.

The East Tilbury councillor was suspended after he sent an e mail full of swear words to a local resident.

A "grab" of the e mail was published on social media.

A UKIP spokesperson said: "After thorough investigations both internally and by the Council itself the UKIP group are happy to welcome Cllr James Baker back after his suspension.

Cllr James Baker said: "I have apologised for something that was wrong, but way out of character and will not happen again. I am delighted that I am able to get back to my work and duties, serving the people of East Tilbury."

A UKIP Spokesman added: "No formal complaint was made and after the two investigations it was decided that he should return to his former position within the group where he will be supporting the team and the people of Thurrock."
