Kick start your chance at an apprenticeship

LEAVING school this summer and looking for an apprenticeship? Kick-start your career!

Hundreds of good quality apprenticeships are on offer at a ‘Get Sorted’ event for school leavers aged 16-19 in Basildon and Brentwood.

The event, which takes place on 1 June, 12-4pm, will provide a fantastic opportunity for young people looking for a route into an apprenticeship.

Those who attend will get the chance to meet with employers and training providers, recruiting on behalf of employers, with genuine vacancies on offer. Parents and guardians are also welcome to attend.

Potential applicants should attend dressed for interview and with an up-to-date CV.

The event, which is being organised by Essex County Council’s new Apprenticeship Promotion and Brokerage Hub, will take place at the Essex Youth Service, 16-20 Southernhay, Basildon, Essex, SS14 1EL.

Cllr Kevin Bentley, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Partnerships, Essex County Council said: “Apprenticeships are a great way for young people to fast-track their career. Apprentices can earn while they learn and gain valuable skills they can build on. I would encourage young people looking to get on the career ladder to attend this event.”

Employers looking to recruit an apprentice or those seeking further information about the event can contact the team on apprenticeships@essex.gov.uk.

Places at the event can be booked online.
