THIS year’s Stanford Music Festival to be held on Saturday 2nd July will be taking on a new look moving from its previous location just along the road to the bigger Mobil Field in Billet Lane.

The new location has more room and will allow easier access from the carpark. The emphasis hasn’t changed though with the festival being aimed at all the family from the very young to the diehard music fans of the 50’s & 60’s.

The acts lined up are of the usual high quality with some old favourites returning such as, Undercover, The Earnshaws, the Heaters and topping the bill the group that rocked the festival a couple of years ago Electronic 80’s.

Along with new acts The Punch, Counterfeit Joy and Mischief there will also be regular sets from DJ’s Leon Rowland and Ska n Mash and appearances from soloists Josh, Sarah and Caroline amongst others ensuring there will be something for everyone.

There will be a fairground, food stalls a beer tent and a selection of other stalls making everything available in one place.

The festival has been free for the last 15 years and the organisers wish to keep it this way, however Terry Piccolo one of the event organisers said, “It costs the Stanford Forum £10,000 to stage the event and it is getting harder to raise this money each year, this year we have taken the decision to make entry to the festival by donation.

This allows festival goers to contribute what they can afford to what is in our opinion the best family music festival in Thurrock”

So put it in your diary Stanford Music Festival 2nd July 1pm to 10.30pm not to be missed.
