Police investigate sex attack on teenage boy in Lakeside area

ESSEX Police are investigating a serious sexual assault which took place in Thurrock.

It happened at around 11.10pm last night in an alleyway near Heron Way and the Lancaster Roundabout near the Harley motorcycle store on the Lakeside Retail Park.

The victim, a teenage boy, was walking from his place of work on the retail park towards the train station at Chafford Hundred when he was assaulted by an unknown man in the alleyway. The suspect is described as white and was wearing dark clothing. He had what has been described as a British accent. He sexually assaulted the victim and then left the scene.

The victim is missing his card holder style wallet containing his rail tickets which may have fallen out of his clothes or have been stolen by the suspect.

Specially trained officers from Essex Police’s sexual offences team have been supporting the victim since the assault.

DI Hayley King said: "This was a serious incident which has left the victim extremely traumatised. I would urge anybody who may have seen anything suspicious or who noticed a man hanging around the area before or after the time of the assault to contact us immediately. If anybody has found the card holder I would also like them to call us as soon as possible. They can contact us via 101 or go to their nearest police station.”
