NATIONAL Express train operator c2c and local community groups jointly known as Tilbury Spirit, combine to give Tilbury residents a free day out to Southend-on-Sea on Saturday 30 July 2016.
More than 400 passengers, will have the opportunity to enjoy an 8 carriage free private train to and from Southend as a special summer day out. Many of the Tilbury residents are excited and preparing to spend the day on the beach, while others are planning to hit the High Street and Adventure Island.
c2c Group Station Manager Julie Davis said: "We’ve worked closely with the Tilbury Spirit community group over the last few years, and we’re delighted to provide this special private train to give so many local people a free day out."
Yewande Kannike, Project Co-ordinator of One Community said “We are thrilled that c2c have decided to give us this lovely treat again, and just at the beginning of the school’s summer holidays! This year, the LinkUp Project, who are local residents working with the Tilbury Broadway Estate to transform their community have volunteered to support this initiative.
Tilbury Spirit also in partnership with c2c train maintain the beautiful flower beds at Tilbury Town station.
