POLICE found a stolen digger and 200 electrical testers, worth about £200,000 in total, during a search in Tilbury.
Officers executed a search warrant at a lock-up in Dock Road on Thursday July 7.
Inside, they found the digger, which had been stolen from Dorset in May.
They also found Fluke 1651B multifunction testers, most of them still in their boxes. Enquiries later revealed they were among 500 stolen from a business in Norwich back in 2010.
Pc Mark Gibbs said: "We are pleased to have been able to reunite these stolen items with their rightful owners and to assist colleagues in Dorset and Norwich, who will continue their investigations to find the suspects involved and bring them to justice.”
The warrant was executed by the Op Newport proactive policing team, who are based in Grays and cover Thurrock.
