East Thurrock 3 v 2 Harlow Town

EAST Thurrock United worked hard to beat Harlow Town 3-2 in a pre-season friendly.

John Coventry gave quite a number of players a run out as they now have just seven days before the season begins.

First real chance of the game came from Harlow Town when Lewis Perkins stroked shot went close.

The Rocks took a while to get going. Fans were hoping to see an expansive style of playing but they may have to be patient.

It was an individual effort by James Walker that saw Rocks equalise in the 34th minute.

Harlow re-took the lead with a neatly placed free kick by Mario Noto just before half time.

The second half took a long time to get going as both teams seemed to cancel each other out. East Thurrock drew level in the 64th minute with a wonderful piece of skill by James Walker as he flew past the Harlow defence and steered the ball home from a very tight angle.

East Thurrock upped their game and work rate and were rewarded with a winner from Harry Honesty with again a fine individual touch.
