THURROCK Council has been advised today (Friday 29 July) by Anglian Water, that the issue of excess water in the sandy play area at Grays Beach Park, in Grays, has now been resolved.
However, for safety reasons, fencing separating the area will remain in place until tomorrow so final checks can take place.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Rob Gledhill was pleased to hear the news. He said: “It is right to wait until tomorrow morning to ensure the water is indeed draining away correct and no additional issues appear.
“The environment team will be visiting the site first thing tomorrow morning and – if all being well – will remove the fencing and reopen the play area.
“I would like to thank council officers who prioritised the issue this week ensuring the park could reopen quickly for the public to enjoy over the summer.
“My thanks also go to Anglian Water, who understood the importance of resolving the problem quickly and reacted accordingly.”
