Tuesday traffic and travel: Two lanes closed at Dartford tunnel

Update: 1945 hrs

Drivers are advised of long delays at the Dartford Crossing, the A282 northound in Kent following a serious incident involving a motorcyclist and car.

One tunnel has been closed (the East Bore) while Kent Police carry out investigations and there are now delays of one and a half hours and nine miles of slow moving traffic.

Police investigations at the scene will continue well into this evening and the tunnel may not open for several hours.

Drivers are advised to check their route before setting out and seek an alternative route where possible. The West Bore of the tunnel remains open but has a height restriction.
