THURROCK’S Emily Scott is on the verge of an Olympic medal as the GB Rugby sevens team qualified for the semi-finals.

GB put in an impressive performance against hotly-tipped Canada and then swept aside a durable Fiji to book their place in the semi’s

The next challenge is the mighty All-Blacks.

Win and they are certain of a Gold or Siver.

Lose and it is a play off for the Bronze.

Either way, the former Gable Hall pupil has made a great impression, coming on from the bench and making a series of crucial tackles in each game she plays in.

The semi finals are on Monday afternoon.
