THIS could simply be a season where survival is the benchmark for success for the Blues.
A new manager and a new squad. Yes, the manager is former skipper, Jamie Stuart but this is his first appointment.
The new signings come from a variety of backgrounds. Some had showed promise at academies but are now hoping to kick start their careers others are a little bit more established this level.
In many ways, this season is similar to season ’10-’11 when they went down a number of divisions and were homeless. It was all a matter of survival. You get the feeling that fifth from bottom, whether they like it or not, may also be a relatively "good result".
Off the field, the fans have done a fantastic job in keeping the club alive and finding over £44,000 of investment for the Supporters Trust.
With the club being name-checked in plans for a second William Edwards school at Blackshots, you do feel that things are moving in a positive direction.
You feel that the club is in good hands and amongst patient people.
