ORSETT & Thurrock lost for the second game in succession by five wickets away at Hadleigh & Thundersley.

The hosts elected to bat first and made a substantial 264 thanks mainly to an unbeaten 82 off 64 balls from captain Adam Soilleux and a quickfire 64 from just 35 balls by Luke Smith. Shahid Khan picked up a couple of wickets while there was one each for George Pavitt, Muhammad Rahim and Paul Bennett.

In reply, Umar Ayub returned to form with 69 from 73 balls and his opening partner Agha Tahir hit 39, but the middle order was blown away by Adam Soilleux, who certainly led from the front and backed up his earlier batting exploits with 5-49 from nine overs.

Shahid Khan (40) smashed four maximums down the order but it was too late to force a win.
