GABLE Hall students celebrated a 60% pass rate in 5 or more subjects including English and Maths GCSEs. 76% of students achieved a C grade or above in English. 75% of students achieved 5 or more any GCSEs at grades A* – C. This is an improvement on 2015.
A spokesperson said: "These results are of course provisional and are currently subject to a few appeals. We are hopeful that this figure will rise in due course. The percentage of students with 5 or more A* – G passes stayed at 98%. Significantly for our inclusive ethos, this year as last year, every child (100%), left Gable Hall School with a qualification. Just under 20% of our students scored an A* or equivalent in at least 1 subject.
"At least 50% of our students gained 10 or more GCSE A*- C passes, with 36% achieving the prestigious Ebacc qualification (A* – C in English, Maths, 2 Sciences, History or Geography and an MFL – a suite of 6 subjects). This sets them fair for a university career or a high quality apprenticeship.
Twelve departments posted results above 70%. Our biggest improvements were seen in Maths, Physics, English & English Literature, RE, Geography and Citizenship.
The average number of GCSEs only per student rose to 10.8 this year up from 10.5 last year.
