Thurrock Council want you to do more online

THURROCK Council has continued its drive to make interacting with council services easier and more convenient by adding more functions online.

The My Account section of the Thurrock Council website has grown since it was established in 2013. More than 40,000 residents have signed up for My Account, with 1,300 joining each month.

Since the launch, more services have been added and you can report missed bin collections, manage your council tax, apply for school places, book appointments to register births and much more – all using a single username and password.

The Council is excited to launch this month the new service for parents who will now be able to check whether their children are entitled to free school meals and free childcare for two year olds.

Portfolio Holder for Central Services, Cllr Shane Hebb, said: “We are pleased to be opening up more and more service for residents online.

“Many of our residents work during council office hours, not to mention parents of toddlers and children who have a lot more important things on their plate.

“Commuters, parents, shift workers and others in Thurrock must be able to access all these services when it is convenient for them and this true self-service system works around them.”
