Deputy leader of Thurrock Council steps down

THE DEPUTY leader of Thurrock Council has stood down.

Chafford councillor Garry Hague has also stood down from his position as a portfolio holder for business.

The announcement was made at Wednesday night’s meeting of Thurrock Council.

Council leader Rob Gledhill informed the council that cllr Hague needed more time to look after his wife who is unwell.

Stanford councillor, Shane Hebb will now take up the reins as deputy leader.
