ESSEX Police are investigating after an attempted robbery in South Ockendon.Officers were called to the Co-Operative Food store in Canterbury Parade at around 12.45pm today (Wednesday, October 5).A member of staff, a woman in her 50s, said a man came into the store, pointed a firearm at her and demanded she open the till.She refused and the man left empty handed.The man is described as being white, in his 20s, wearing a white or yellow wig, and a grey hooded sports top.Anyone with information is asked to contact Essex Police on 101.People can also give information to the independent crime-fighting charityCrimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via an Anonymous Online Form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
