By Scott LanzaAVELEY didn’t take long to find a replacement in Justin Gardener who unexpectedly resigned last week. The Millers have turned to Terry Spillane who has a great track record in the Ryman North. Spillane cut his teeth with Frenford Senior before moving into the Essex Senior League with Stansted, with whom he won the League title. He then moved onto to Redbridge for the 2011/12 campaign, which saw the Motormen just miss out on a play-off spot. However that season will be remembered for a magnificent FA Cup run that saw Redbridge reach the second round before succumbing to Division Two outfit Crawley Town. From there Spillane went to Maldon & Tiptree who he led to a play-off Final appearance before almost leading Thamesmead Town to a play-off berth. Joining Spillane in the Aveley dug-out will be Tony Faulkner, Darren George and Gaz Dauti and turning to this management team shows that Aveley have serious play-off ambitions.Spillane will take his first game in charge on Tuesday evening when the Millers visit Waltham Abbey.
