Volunteers can really make a difference cleaning up Grays

NGAGE, the community organisation and volunteer centre for Thurrock organised a community clear-up day in and around Grays Town Centre, including Seabrooke Rise and Grays Town park. This was in support of Make a Difference day’, one of the largest single days of volunteering that takes place annually.Annette Lewis, community worker for ngage said We were overwhelmed with the response and what was achieved on the day. Volunteers worked really well and we were able to clear more than 90 bags of rubbish.”We would like to thank volunteers from the community, South Essex College (Thurrock Campus) and members of staff from KFC for all their hard work and commitment. A special thanks also to Thurrock Councils Environment Team .Members of Thurrock Council’s gardening group also supported the Make a Difference’ day by arranging to meet during their lunch break to tidy the planters at the Civic Offices.
