THE annual Purfleet Remembrance Sunday service on takes place this weekend (Sunday, 6 November).
The event will begin at the Purfleet Military History Museum and Heritage Centre at Centurion Way, where doors will open at 9am for participants to gather. They can then either make the short walk or ride on a vintage bus provided by Ensignbus for the service at nearby St Stephen’s Church on London Road, site of the war memorial where the service will start at 10.30am.
Standard bearers will be made welcome and wreaths will be laid as usual at the Memorial.
The Centre tea bar will be open before and after the service for refreshments, sandwiches etc.
Proceedings will take place in the Heritage Centre if weather conditions are poor.
