Thurrock Tories delay decision over fixed tenancies for council tenants

THURROCK Council has delayed a decision over fixed term tenancies for its tenants.

A Housing Committee had recommended that the fixed term be ten years but at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday night, council leader Rob Gledhill recommended that the council wait for further guidance from the government.

The idea of fixed term tenancies has come form government legislation.

  1. So if you are to be made homeless as a result of this, and have young children or are vulnerable, then the Council would have a duty to house you anyway. ???
    Er, think again Thurrock Tories

    * But then again the caring Tories will probably remove that duty too.
